Business Writing
Learn and practice “success producing” business writing skills, including written presentation of ideas and business communications in meaningful, effective ways. This 16-hour course focuses on writing with accuracy, clarity, completeness and organization of information in composing business e-mail, memos, letters and reports. Format, style, tone, and precision of language are discussed and applied in writing assignments and class activities. A brief grammar review as related to class writing activities is included. Course can be customized to include types of documents specific to a company or industry.

Business Grammer Essentials
During this 12-hour workshop a participant will study and practice using essential grammar skills for writing business communications. Basic Grammar rules are covered. Work and job related writing assignments crystallize skills studied/learned. Topics include sentence formation and structure, verbs, subjects, sentence fragments, parallelism, subject-verb agreement, pronoun agreement, punctuation and spelling.

Courageous Conversations
Learn strategies to help identify and manage potential barriers to organizational success. Course also covers how to effectively initiate and discuss difficult topics and learn to say "No" when appropriate. 1 day

Customer Service
This course covers customer service concepts and skills needed for success in business, including a self-evaluation for skill building; how to create a climate of service excellence; how to develop listening, verbal and non-spoken communication skills; how to encourage loyalty; how to deal with difficult customers; how to recover and retain customers; and how multicultural factors impact service delivery. Role-play exercises simulate customer service scenarios. Case studies and questions are based on real business situations. 1– 3 days

Effective Business Communication Skills
Building upon the basic Communication Model, the ability to connect more effectively and complete the communication cycle will be enhanced by learning the four basic communication styles. Each style is defined so that it may be clearly recognized. The rapport builders and “hot buttons” that detract from rapport will be identified, and role-play will provide real life application of the process. 1 day

Diversity: Building Bridges-Appreciating Differences
Course addresses the key areas of diversity; knowledge, understanding, acceptance, and behavior. Discover what you actually know about differences by looking at stereotypes, as well as at the source of that knowledge or information. Decipher your level of awareness and explore your willingness to put yourself in a position to feel what others may feel. Examine your patience and regard for respecting different beliefs and behaviors, and assess how you and co-workers act out attitudes toward others, your flexibility and openness in dealing with others, and your self-awareness of patterns of interaction. ½ day

Professional Presentation Skills
This highly interactive 2-day training course is designed to assist business professionals in the art of presenting, an important experience that directly affects processional advancement and earning potential. Participants learn how to effectively prepare and develop a presentation, from defining goals to developing a strong close; the correct use of body language; how to win the audience in the first three minutes; when visuals add impact; plus how to communicate with poise, power an assurance. 2 days

Projecting a Positive Professional Image
Learn what defines a professional image in the participant’s work environment and when traveling, nationally and internationally. Wardrobe styles, how clothing worn affects one-self and others, how one’s image influences performance and the way others respond, nonverbal communication, grooming, and business etiquette are discussed. 1 day

Technical Writing
In this 16-hour course, learn the documentation process: planning, writing, editing, indexing, and production. Through individual and group exercises, participants will learn the skills needed as a technical writer and how to handle the pressures of deadlines and ever-changing product specifications. Designed for those whose job responsibilities and functional tasks include the planning, preparation, and delivery of technical documents, as well as individuals who are interested in technical writing as a profession. 2 days

Telephone Etiquette
This module addresses the basic guidelines for dealing with people politely and efficiently over the telephone. It focuses on verbal and non-verbal communication and explores the impact of attitude and voice communication in the absence of body language. Each participant will have the opportunity to gain awareness of his or her own voice strengths and weaknesses. 4-8 hours

Learn to understand influence building and to determine your most natural influence style: persuading, asserting, bridging and attracting. Japanese Language
An introduction to the phonology, vocabulary, and grammar structures of Japanese, with discussion of the four writing systems for the purpose of familiarizing participants with the basic framework of the language. Additionally, cultural and conversational rituals and what is considered polite behavior will be taught. The objective of this introductory course is to give the student the parameters of the language and the social templates that seem necessary for working in harmony with Japanese co-workers, and for functioning in Japanese society. 2 day

Designed for people preparing for international assignments in other countries, HR professionals who manage expatriate assignments, and executive management staff with expatriate reports. Emphasis is on helping workers going on an international assignment learn the adaptation process and the impact of culture shock on self and family.
