The
Business Office Support Specialist Program (BOSS) is an
intensive, 8-week program. BOSS provides more than just--"point
and click" computer instruction. It’s like an
office skills "boot camp" that produces good
employees who possess skills in computer use, time management
and customer service.
The program consists of 126 hours of computer instruction
(six 21-hour courses) and 14 hours of job skills (1 week
long course).
Computer classes are currently approximately three weeks
in length and held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday -
Thursday. The following computer skills courses are included
in the BOSS program (each 20 hours):
• Keyboarding
• Introduction to PC
• Introduction to Internet/Email
• Introduction to Windows XP
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Excel
In addition, the Job Search and Employments
Skills seminar class is the final class
of the program and lasts one week Monday – Thursday
6:00 pm. – 9:30 pm. Topics for the seminar class
include: job search skills, vocational testing, time
management, resume writing, and interview skills.
The next session begins on September
11, 2006 and ends on November 16, 2006.
