North Lake College Basketball Team Goes to National Finals

IRVING, Texas. 03 March, 2000 - The North Lake College men's basketball team leaves for Delhi, New York on Wednesday, March 8, to play in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCCA) Division III championship. The North Lake Blazers ended their season with an 8-1 record and are ranked seventh in the nation for the Division's 1999-2000 season.

The tournament in New York is on March 9-11. This is the first trip to the national tournament in the college's fourteen years of competing. The Blazers play their first game with Roxbury, Mass. on Thursday, March 9.

"This has been an outstanding year and an outstanding team," says Dan Joutras, North Lake's Athletic Director. "If I could name one thing that sets this team apart it would be "chemistry". There is no one outstanding star, just fifteen really good players working well together and doing their job as a team."

"We have worked hard this year against some strong teams in the District," Basketball coach Tim McGraw says. "I am proud of everyone."
