International Day Celebration

IRVING, Texas. 24 March, 2000 - Exhibits, food, music and entertainment for the whole family are all part of North Lake College's International Day festivities on Thursday, April 6. Activities begin at North Lake's cafeteria/patio area at 10:30am and end at 1:30pm.

International Day offers an opportunity for students and visitors from other nationalities to come together to celebrate their country's traditions. Nigerian dancers; Brazilian guitar and singing; and a fashion show representing authentic dress from various homelands are only a few highlights of the day's program. Food selections will also present an international flavor with Restaurante Danals; Pad Thai Restaurant; Antojitos Salvadorenos; and Shilla Restaurant with Korean and Japanese cuisine. Also, the college's International Club will have a bake sale to benefit their organization.

Exhibits include Mexican art and history; information on Korea, Finland and Scandinavia; Indonesian batik; Henna hand painting from India; North Lake's Mexico and Rome programs; and an origami display and demonstration. Oleg Kuprevich from Belarus, Russia, will host the stage events. The schedule for the stage is as follows:
