North Lake College Exhibit Features Irving Photographer

IRVING, Texas. Jan. 20, 2004: North Lake College will host the photographic exhibit “Step-By-Step,” of Irving-based photographer Clarence Saunders. The exhibit represents six years of photographic observation of young dancers. The exhibit will run from Thursday, January 23 to February 18, 2004, in the North Lake College Gallery. The reception for the artist will be on Wednesday, February 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the Gallery.

Documentary photographer, Clarence Saunders, captured the young students of Lisa Thompson, Director of Step-By-Step as they worked to fulfill their dreams of becoming a ballerina. The photographs are powerful images of young girls learning the art and discipline of dance. Mr. Saunders works as both a portraitist and a landscape artist and was a winner in the State Fair of Texas photography contest in children’s photography in 1997 and 1998.

The exhibit and reception is free and open to the public. North Lake College is a member of the Dallas County Community College District.
