North Lake College Hosts a "Festival de la Hispanidad"

IRVING, Texas. Oct. 7, 2004: Hispanic parents, high school students and families are invited to North Lake College on Friday, October 15, 6:00-9:30 p.m. for “Festival de la Hispanidad.” The event will take place in the college’s cafeteria. The Festival highlights the value of higher education to Hispanic students and families. The college is partnering with the City of Irving and Debes Creer en Ti (Believe in Yourself), a community organization, to present the motivational program and fun activities.

Arnulfo Hernandez, a 2004 graduate of St. Edwards University will be the keynote speaker. He is the child of migrant workers who continued his education past high school and is now a reporter for Univision in Austin. Educational workshops, refreshments, music and Ballet Folklorico will also be part of the event. For more information, call 972-273-3153.
