North Lake Big Band Concert

IRVING, Texas. November 4, 2005 - The North Lake College Big Band will perform Tuesday, November 29, in the college's Performance Hall. The concert begins at 7:30 PM and is free and open to the public. The college is located at 5001 N. MacArthur Blvd. in Irving, TX.

The band, led by Danny Prado, will open the show with a variety of contemporary big-band music and will be joined by guest artist Tim Ishii. Saxophonist Ishii is well-known in the area as he has performed at the Texas Music Educators Conference and is a faculty member at several jazz camps including the University of Wisconsin's summer festival. Mr. Ishii has backed numerous artists including: Natalie Cole, The Temptations, Doc Severinson, James Moody, Slide Hampton and many others. He is currently the head of the University of Texas, Arlington Jazz Studies department and next semester will be leading the UTA Jazz Orchestra on an international tour to Germany, and the North Sea Jazz Festival.
