North Lake College Basketball Team Goes to National Finals

IRVING, Texas. 08 March, 2006 — The North Lake College men’s basketball team leaves for Delhi, New York on Tuesday, March 8, to play in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCCA) Division III championship. The North Lake Blazers ended their season with a 19-14 record with their defeat of Richland College in the play-off of the Metro Athletic Conference tournament.

The national tournament in Delhi, New York, is on March 16-18. This is the second trip to the NJCCA tournament for the Blazers. The team plays their first game with Suffolk County Community College on Thursday, March 16. There are eight teams from seven states
represented in the tournament.

“This has been a challenging year for our basketball team,” says Dan Joutras, North Lake’s Athletic Director. “But, the men played hard and pulled through when we needed to win”.
“We have worked hard this year against some strong teams in the District,” basketball coach Tim McGraw says. “I am proud of everyone.”
