New Spring Registration Deadline at North Lake College

Deadline Date Now January 16

IRVING, Texas- North Lake College (NLC) will close Spring Registration early this year, moving the deadline to January 16, 2013. To ease this transition, the Academic Advising department is offering extended office hours and online assistance. Students may register at all four campus locations beginning Monday, November 26.

“I would definitely register before the winter break,” explains NLC student Meghan Springer, “Especially since the registration deadline is earlier this year.” While students were previously allowed to register until the start of the semester, North Lake College will now close registration six days before classes begin. The college hopes the new process will benefit incoming students – giving them time to add or drop courses, purchase books, acquire a parking tag, or print out the DART schedule. Students registering for Winter Term, however, may still register until classes start.

Working students like Eduardo Gallebos are excited by the new changes- especially the Saturday office hours. Last spring he was forced to take a day off from work to register for classes. “I know a lot of people who work 9 to 5,” Springer adds. “The new hours are really going to be beneficial for them.”

Central Campus Academic Advising is open Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Special holiday and Saturday hours may be found online at www.northlakecollege.edu/springreg.
