South Irving Celebrates Community

Annual event anticipates 400 attendees
IRVING, Texas- North Lake College South Campus will host its annual education fair, FIESTA, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013. The South Campus is located at 1081 West Shady Grove Road.
Free and open to the public, FIESTA ¡Conozca Su Comunidad! (Getting to Know Your Community) offers free food, live entertainment, community vendors, exciting giveaways, campus tours, and fun-filled activities for all ages—such as the nature trail scavenger hunt. Approximately 50 local businesses, community organizations and churches will appear at FIESTA, including The Irving Fire Department, complete with their fire engine.
“This year there is a large focus on career and technical programs so people can learn about new job opportunities and classes,” says College Programs Director Wanda Whitten. Highlighting North Lake’s credit and non-credit educational opportunities, representatives from each college department will inform the public about the many ways North Lake can help families achieve their goals.
