Application development specialists (also called programmers) design, write and update computer programs or software using an alphabet soup of programming languages including C, C++, C#, Java and Visual Basic.NET. Database administrators maintain storage systems, run archival networks, monitor system performance and help maintain database security. We are now offering Programming Logic and Design
(ITSE 1429), which includes programming robots
, and Introduction to C++ Programming
(ITSE 1407) as two additional courses to students who are interested in learning more about computer programming. Both courses are designed to introduce students to the basic concepts of problem solving and computer programming. These courses are designed to prepare students for success in the more advanced courses that we have traditionally offered and will continue to offer.
ITSE 1429 is offered as a face-to-face course and ITSE 1407 is offered as a an online course. Ideally, students who are exploring their interest in computer programming would register for the face-to-face course. This setting offers the best chance for students to learn the basic concepts of analysis and design involved in writing a computer program. This is the student's chance to see if the world of computer programming is a good fit for his or her talents and interests.
