Oracle offers two certifications to become an Oracle Certified DBA. Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) and Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).

What is the difference between an OCA and OCP?


The OCA is your first step towards success as an Oracle professional, designed to give you a firm foundation in the basic database administration of Oracle Database 10g. The OCP course advances your success as an Oracle professional in the area of database administration.

How many classes do I need to take for each level of certification?


There is one course for each certification:
OCA – Administration Workshop I – 8 weeks
OCP – Administration Workshop II – 8 weeks

It is further complicated by the use of dispersed or outsources teams, complex business processes, time-driven initiatives, new agile software development approaches, and poorly integrated legacy applications.
