League for Innovation North Lake College Winners 2007-8

The Art Department at North Lake College is one of the most active and successful programs on campus. In and out of the classroom, art is a vital part of North Lake's environment with student and professional works displayed throughout campus. Students include a wonderful mix of art majors seeking degrees, non-majors taking art as an elective, and others simply enriching their lives through art. Students often discover that art fulfills a void and leads to lifelong pursuits or careers.

NLC's art faculty consists of professional artists and art historians who know firsthand the value of art for the individual and society. Students are taught to appreciate visual form in art and nature and to make art with paints, pencils, clay, metals and computers. In our art classes, students are nurtured and encouraged to follow their goals and dreams and through art to practice and value creative thinking.
