What Can I Study?

North Lake College offers a wide variety of courses and programs to help you reach your educational and career goals.

Choosing a program of study

You can complete a two-year associate degree program, a certificate program or enroll in individual courses to meet personal goals.

Planning to transfer to a four-year school?

North Lake has a "core" curriculum of courses guaranteed to transfer to all Texas public colleges and universities. The Core represents 42 semester hours of specified course credits which include beginning and intermediate courses in English; mathematics; arts and humanities; social and behavioral sciences; natural and physical sciences.

Ready to jump into a career?

You can start your career from North Lake by earning a Certificate or Associate of Applied Sciences (AAS) degree. A certificate is not a degree, but a credential showing successful completion of a basic curriculum in a career field. Some certificates require two years to complete, others less time. Most career and technical programs offer internships and cooperative work-education courses that combine real-world experience with college coursework.

Distance Learning

Expand your learning possibilities with flexible, convenient scheduling. Distance learning courses provide instruction to students who are not at the same location as the instructors and can use various forms of technology—television, computer, telephone and the Internet. Students must meet prerequisites or assessment scores where applicable. Some campus-based courses may include some on-site instruction.
