Academic Probation Procedures for Summer 2012
Scholastic Probation
A student on scholastic probation will be restricted in course selection and the total number of credit hours registered per semester.
Students will enter DCCCD under their former academic standing. All DCCCD academic standing policies apply. New Transfer In students with less than 2.0 cumulative GPA must follow the petition procedures listed below.
Course Requirements
A Human Development course (HDEV or EDUC) may be required for probation/suspension students to register for the next semester. Students are introduced to academic and personal goal-setting and learning skills that enhance their chances for educational success.
Summer 2012 Classes Begin:
Summer 1 on Wednesday, June 6, 2012
Summer 2 on Monday, July 9, 2012
Students on Probation, Suspension, Dismissal and Indefinite Dismissal must meet the registration and/or petition deadlines for that level of academic standing.
Registration deadlines for Probation 1, 2 & 3 students:
Summer 1 is Friday, May 25, 2012
Summer 2 is Friday, June 29, 2012
North Lake Probation 1
Students will register with any academic advisor on a first come first serve basis. Students will be restricted in course selection and total number of credit hours. Journey to Success program will be mandatory for a select group of probation 1 students.
North Lake Probation 2
Students will register with any academic advisor on a first come first serve basis. Students will be restricted in course selection and total number of credit hours.
North Lake Probation 3 (appointment required)
Summer 1
An appointment will be required for registration with an Academic Probation Advisor. To ensure a Summer 1 2012 registration, an appointment needs to be made by Friday, May 11, 2012. The deadline to register and secure your tuition for registration is Friday, May 25, 2012.
Summer 2
An appointment will be required for registration with an Academic Probation Advisor. To ensure a Summer 2 2012 registration, an appointment needs to be made by Friday, June 15, 2012. The deadline to register and secure your tuition for registration is Friday, June 29, 2012.
Appointments will begin on Monday, April 16, 2012 for students who are currently enrolled. For appointments please call 972-273-3394 Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

To petition for readmit/registration the procedure is as follows:
- Deliver your completed and signed North Lake College Readmit Petition to the Academic Advising Office in A-415. The North Lake College Readmit Petition is located on the North Lake Academic Advising web page under Probation Policy.
- To ensure registration the preferred dates to deliver your Readmit Petition for Summer 2012 are :
- Summer 1- Friday, May 18, 2012
- Summer 2 -Friday, June 22, 2012
When you deliver your petition, make your appointment to meet with a Probation Academic Advisor.
Suspension students will be seen on a first come, first serve basis.
Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Readmitted students may be restricted to no more than one course per term. A Student Success course may be required for readmission. Course selection will be highly restricted.
- All transcripts are required prior to registration.
Scholastic Standards Policy
Students on Suspension or Dismissal from any DCCCD campus or any other institution with less than a 2.0 GPA may not be readmitted to North Lake College in the next subsequent session of enrollment. Students may not be eligible to enroll for up to 12 months.
Students on Indefinite Academic Dismissal are not eligible to enroll for at least 12 months. Students are only eligible to enroll after that period upon the recommendation of the chief student affairs office or Academic Probation Advisor.
