2015 Commencement Ceremony
Thursday, May 14, 2015
Irving Convention Center
Before you graduate
Make sure you have filled out a Degree Plan Request Form
. This will ensure we formally audit the classes you’ve taken at North Lake College. If you’ve earned credit at other colleges/universities, make sure we have official transcripts from those too. (We will process substitutions as needed, so feel free to contact us if you have questions about a particular substitution.) The degree plan request forms may be turned in at the Degree Audit/Admissions office in A405.
In order to graduate you will also need to meet State requirements, such as Texas Success Initiative (TSI), GPA, campus residency, and catalog year not being older than 5 years.
- TSI and GPA requirements will depend on the degree/certificate chosen.
- Campus residency means 25% of the total hours/coursework for your degree/certificate must be completed at North Lake College.
- All degree/certificate requirements are tied to a catalog year, which is any year in which you've taken classes at North Lake College. In order to graduate, the catalog year must not be older than 5 years.
Once you complete all degree/certificate requirements, including State requirements, you will be completed for the appropriate term.
If you have any questions regarding any of these requirements or need extra clarification, please email us
with Ready to Graduate
in the Subject Line.
Diplomas and Certificates
North Lake College diplomas and certificates are awarded after the end of the fall semester, spring semester (which includes wintermester classes), and summer semester (which includes Maymester classes).
We will email you when your diploma is available to be picked up or mailed.
Because we conduct all communication through email, it is very important you keep your email address updated with the Degree Audit office. To update your email address, please email us
with Change of Email Address
in the subject line.
If you were a previous student at North Lake College and then transferred to another college/university, you may be eligible for reverse transfer.
Reverse Transfer allows us to award degrees/certificates to previous students if the requirements missing can be fulfilled with courses taken at other colleges/universities.
If you’d like to see if you could earn a degree/certificate from North Lake College, please send us an official copy of your transcripts and we will conduct an audit.
