Current F1 international students at North Lake College can request letters
from the International Center, verifying their status as a student, at any time during the year. These letters are often needed to:
- Request a U.S. social security number (if offered a job on campus or through OPT)
- Re-enter the United States after traveling
- Obtain letters of invitation for family members to visit students. These requests are only for school business, like helping your family attend your graduation. Only 5 family members may be invited.
Please print the letter request form
and indicate which type of letter you need. Then bring it to the International Center front desk and submit it there. You will be informed approximately how long the request will take to be processed.
The International Center cannot guarantee that all letter requests will be approved/processed.
After you submit your letter request to the International Center, we should be able to provide you with a letter within 5 to 7 business days. Incomplete requests will not be processed.
If you are not on a student visa
We are only authorized to provide information/verification for students on F1 visas. We may be able to write a letter for a student on another visa, if you only need the letter to invite foreign relatives to visit for the May graduation ceremony.
