Enrollment for High School Students
NLC Enrollment for High School Students Dual Credit
Working in partnership with participating high schools, North Lake College offers the Dual Credit program for highly motivated high school juniors and seniors. Through Dual Credit you can earn college credit for classes which also fulfill high school graduation requirements. (A contract between North Lake College and the individual or school must be in effect for Dual Credit.)

Concurrent Enrollment
You can also earn college credit while in high school through concurrent enrollment. Courses taken through concurrent enrollment provide college credit only; however, the credit may be applied toward high school if prior approval has been received from your high school.

Eligibility Requirements
  1. Must be in the 11th or 12th grade.
  2. Have school counselor recommendation.
  3. Qualifying test scores for courses in English, science, history, government, economics, math, computers, languages, and humanities:

    TAKS:     Language Arts 2200, WS 3, Math 2200

    TAAS:     WS 1770, Reading 89, Math 86

    SAT:       Verbal 500, Math 500 and a combined score of 1070

    ACT:       English 19, Math 19 and a composite of 23

    Accuplacer:  Reading 78, Writing Obj. (equal to or greater than) 80, Essay 5, and Math 64 (College Algebra requires additional testing).
