How to Start Your Own Business (BUSG 1025 77000) In this ever-changing economy, knowing what it takes to start and maintain a successful business may be your key to the future. Learn how to make your business ideas become a reality by enrolling in How to Start Your Own Business.
 
This 32-hour course is an introduction to understanding the critical elements of starting and operating a small business. You will gain practical knowledge in the area of small business management. Topics of discussion include:

  • Creating an entrepreneurial profile
  • Developing a business plan
  • Building a marketing plan
  • Financing the business and managing a budget
  • Understanding legal structures and tax laws affecting the business
  • Managing the business

How to Start Your Own Business includes nine independent topic modules. Attend all modules, or choose the topics that interest you most. Students who complete seven of the nine modules will earn a certificate of completion.

Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m.
