Faculty Association

The North Lake College Faculty Association (NLCFA) is the NLC chapter of the Dallas Community College Faculty Association (DCCFA). The NLCFA represents faculty at North Lake College in discussions with the North Lake College administration. The Association is the faculty voice on issues relating to:

  • classroom instruction
  • faculty hiring
  • contractual disputes
  • evaluation
  • welfare and benefits
  • academic freedom

The NLCFA is governed by its Constitution and Bylaws, elects officers, and meets regularly to discuss issues and share information.

DCCCD Faculty Association

Membership dues in the NLCFA automatically entitles faculty to membership in the DCCFA. The seven college association presidents form the DCCFA Council, the governing body of the DCCFA. These council members elect officers for the DCCFA, meet regularly for business meetings, meet with the Chancellor and Vice Chancellors once a month, and with the full Chancellor's Cabinet once a month to represent faculty on matters of academic freedom, welfare and benefits, contractual issues, evaluation processes, and policies and procedures affecting faculty.
