Library Services

The North Lake College Library provides convenient access to a variety of high quality library services, including extensive collections and information resources to support the curriculum, research, intellectual and creative needs of the college's students, faculty and staff.

Computer Use and Photocopy Services

Computer access is available to currently enrolled North Lake students, faculty and staff. Library users have access to the library's numerous online resources. Four copy machines are available in the Copy Center in L-214 next to the circulation desk. Photocopying and computer printing both require use of the Pharos printing system. A North Lake ID is required.

Course Reserves

Course reserves are designed to provide a high level of access to material that is in demand by a large number of students. Materials are placed in a controlled access area and given short loan periods to maximize access to materials.

Library Instruction Courses

The North Lake Library offers two library instruction courses that include a library tour, overview of library services, use of the library online catalog and use of subscription databases. Professional librarians teach these classes. Classes are open to all North Lake students and staff. There is no fee and no advance registration is required.

Study Rooms

Study rooms are provided for the benefit of currently enrolled North Lake College students. Sign-in at the Reference Desk and be prepared to show your current NLC student identification card.
