Duck hunt

There’s a new family of ducks in town. After months of searching, replacements for Buddy Boy and his friends have been found. The flock has come in, so waddle on over to North Lake College’s lake and take a gander.

You may remember that a while back, the college had to rid itself of its resident ducks for a construction project. After the project was completed, the hunt was on for some fresh meat. Gary Wiltrout and Linda Hall of Plano had an offer that just fit the bill. More...


Guest speaker recalls Nazi Germany

At first glance, one might think that Margot M. Blewett is just like any of us, but she is not. She saw things that we only see in a movie theater. She went through one of the toughest experiences one might imagine — she survived war.

Born in Dusseldorf, Germany in 1930, Blewett was returning from vacation at age nine when she learned that the war had just begun. As a matter of fact, it ruled her life for the next six years and destroyed her childhood just like it destroyed her hometown of Dusseldorf and many other cities in her beloved Germany. More...


A-400 doubles size; move-in on schedule

After four months of demolition and almost six months of remodeling and construction, A-400 has a tentative completion scheduled for November.

“We are looking for substantial completion by Nov. 15,” construction manager Bill Bradford said. “Then, a punch list will be done of all the things that need to be adjusted and fixed. The contractor has 30 days to complete and fix this punch list.” More...
