Bed-sharing comedy, "Bedroom Farce",
comes to NLC Performance Hall
Everyone has relationships, everyone experiences passion
and everyone definitely has more than their share of
attitude. Combine these three things and you come up
with Bedroom Farce, the play opening in North
Lake College’s Performance Hall Feb. 26.
Bedroom Farce is a story written by Alan Ayckbourn,
a British playwright, and intertwines sex, relationships,
comedy and plenty of accents.
Alice Butler, speech teacher and head of the theater
department, said it’s “an interesting study
in relationships and a good contrast between the old
and modern.”
The set is three bedrooms, each portraying different
aspects of life. The story centers on four married couples
in the ‘70s in London, England, who have all been
invited to a party. The focus of the play will be on
the various types of relationships among the couples.
Nicholas Walter, who plays the party’s host, said
he liked the play because of the physical energy and
attitudes involved.
Butler also added that there was plenty of comic timing
and sexual tensions mixed in along with the ins and
outs of marriage.
The cast includes Brittany Hobden, Brock Riney, Andrew
Worley, Jenina Burek, Jenny Couey, Chantel Garcia, David
Alverado and Nicholas Walter.
The “behind-the-scenes” crew consists of
Meredith Thomas, Eloy Corral II, Tricia Endsley, Ryan
Fisher, Sean O’Brien, Whitney Moody, Sajeev Pillar,
Bonnie Socall and Dustin Sautter.
The play opens Wednesday, Feb. 26 and will continue
through Saturday, March 1. All performances are free
and begin at 8 p.m.
