Preliminary SACS report cites significant improvement

Last week, the Southern Association of Colleges and
Schools (SACS) Special Committee released a report accepting
North Lake College’s “aggressive steps”
to fix 10 of the 45 deficiencies identified by a visiting

Test program to enforce parking during key events

With parking on campus at a premium, city, school
and library officials are finding the honor system isn’t
enough.On Oct. 20, a test program was begun to ensure
thatparking spaces designated for library patrons are
not occupied by students going to class. Police will
block off or closely monitor all 65 spaces located on

Students get ‘real life’ peek at
future careers

Your next dash to the nearest bus stop won’t be
paid for by North Lake College, but that might be just
a few stops down the line. In the past, NLC students
received discounts on passes for Dallas Area Rapid Transit
buses and trains, but no more. Now if you want to hitch
a ride on the bus line, you have to pay full price.
That may change, but don't look for it any time soon.
