News Register

Can you draw?

Can you draw? Do you have political observations? Ever considered using your observations to draw political cartoons? Well, now is your chance to give it a try.

The News-Register is holding a political cartoon contest. You, a North Lake College student, can draw a political cartoon and send it to the News-Register. The top three submissions will be printed in the October newspaper.

But your printed work isn’t the only prize. The artist of the best cartoon will receive a 5-day value card for Subway and each of the two runners up will receive a free Subway lunch.

The rules are simple:
• The cartoon must be no larger than 5.5 inches by 3.75 inches.

• All submissions must include the artist’s name, phone number, physical address and e-mail address.

• Submissions must be received by the News-Register no later than Oct. 17.

• Drawings must be black and white.

• All work must be the artist’s original work.

• Submissions will be disqualified if they are obscene, libelous, or racially, sexually, or religiously offensive.

• Staff and contributing writers to the News-Register are not eligible for participation in the contest.

• Students may enter as many submissions as they like, but only one submission per student will be printed and only one prize will be awarded per student.

• All rights revert to authors on publication.

• All prizes valid only at the North Lake College Subway location.
