Lake Takes

The N-R's take on recent campus happenings

THUMBS UP to lessening the number of senior parking spaces.
First the times during which one could freely use the senior parking spots were changed. Now the number of senior parking spaces has been lessened. It is always a good thing when more convenient parking spaces are available for all of us to park our vehicles.

THUMBS UP to North Lake Health Services.
Students and faculty had the opportunity to receive flu vaccinations again this year before the shortage was announced. Every year around the same time, for $20, flu shots are available in the health center.

THUMBS DOWN to students on campus with sticky fingers.
Grow up children. The increased amount of criminal activity and theft around campus is getting out of hand. Didn’t your mother teach you not to take things that do not belong to you? Go apply for a loan and get your own.

THUMBS UP to the return of a missing flute.
After our evening jazz instructor lost his flute in the parking lot earlier this month, a thoughtful student returned it to him. I guess some mothers taught their children proper manners.

Political Cartoon Contest Extended
That’s right, everyone. We’re extending the deadline on the political cartoon contest announced last month. The deadline is now Nov. 19. The rules and prizes remain unchanged from what was written last month. For more information, drop by the journalism lab in A-260.
