Destiny E. LeSueur, a North Lake vocal performance student, is the winner of the district-wide Alice Jones Berding music scholarship.

LeSueur is the vice president of the evening Chorale, a member of the day ensemble, and is studying music theory, voice and piano.

She will perform in March along with the other contestants in a concert at El Centro.


The Annual Spring Talent Show will take place April 7 in the Courtyard.

SPAR is hosting the event, and individuals and group acts are welcome to perform -- singing, theatrical, dancing, etc.

If your club would like to put a program together for the show, stop by the SPAR office (A-233) and sign up by March 31.

A Celebration of Womanhood is planned for March 8 in the Gallery.

In celebration of “Women’s History Month,” participants are invited to create an exhibit that honors a special woman (mother, grandmother, aunt, etc.) and display something that shares the life of this wonderful woman.

The University of Dallas, Haggerty Gallery will present an exhibition of recent works of art by North Lake instructor Chris Fulmer. She will share the spotlight with Nebraska artist Christina Narwicz and Chicago artists Susan Sensemann. The exhibit is called “Stimulating the Senses.”

Cristina Nava, a North Lake College photography student, will have her photography on display at the Bath House Cultural Center in Dallas, 521 E. Lawther Drive.

“Mending Life” will hang from March 5 through April 16. A reception is scheduled for March 6 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
