If you’re not heading to Cancun, Panama City Beach, or South Padre Island for Spring Break 2005, you may as well get some action at the movie theater. Check out these Spring Break releases.

Beloved and beleaguered character Chili Palmer is back in a sequel to the comedy smash Get Shorty! This time John Travolta plays a different kind of hit man, joined by Uma Thurman, Danny DeVito and Vince Vaughn.

Gunner Palace (Palm Pictures)
A non-fiction film that juxtaposes the daily life of the 2/3 Field Artillery, a.k.a. “The Gunners.” Forget politics, this film is about the lives and humanity of soldiers who set up barracks in the bombed-out pleasure palace of Uday Hussein (nicknamed Gunner Palace.)

Hostage (Miramax) Based on the best-selling thriller, Hostage stars Bruce Willis in a true nailbiter. Three delinquent teenagers follow a family home to steal their car and find themselves trapped in a multi-million dollar compound on the outskirts of town. Taking the family hostage sets their story in motion.

The Jacket (Warner Independent) This gothic thriller starring Adrien Brody and Keira Knightley will make your pulse race. A Gulf War veteran seemingly involved in a crime and committed to a mental institution, Jack Starks (Brody) is in a world of hurt trying to piece time, reality, and his mind back together.

Millions (Fox Searchlight)
When a suitcase full of money falls from the sky and lands at 7-year-old Damien’s feet, the adventure of a lifetime begins. Director Danny Boyle (28 Days Later, Trainspotting) and writer Cottrell Boyce (24 Hour Party People) craft an edgy yet wholesome-film-going experience.

The Ring 2 (Dreamworks
SKG) Naomi Watts reprises the role of investigative reporter Rachel Keller, who realizes that the vengeful Samara is back and more determined than ever to continue her relentless cycle of terror and death. In theatres March 18.

Robots (Twentieth Century
Fox) Clever animation yields Rodney Copperbottom, voiced by Ewan McGregor. A young robot, Copperbottom, meets Cappy (Halle Berry) a robot with whom he is instantly smitten. Other characters voiced by Greg Kinnear, Robin Williams and Amanda Bynes.

Steamboy (Triumph/Sony)
Katsuhiro Otomo uses more than 180,000 drawings and 400 CG cuts to create Steamboy. A retro sci-fi epic set in Victorian England, it features Ray Steam, who receives a mysterious metal ball containing a new form of energy .
