Students will not be denied access to college
during finals week while Byron Nelson patrons are
on campus
During finals
week this semester, North Lake will be sharing
its parking lot with patrons of the EDS Byron
Nelson Golf Championship. Beginning Wednesday,
May 9, campus police officers will be directing
traffic at both entrances of NLC.
Students coming to campus for finals will not
be faced with parking issues, according to the
North Lake Police Department. Although, students
who have their student I.D. to show the officers
can expedite the process, said Officer Chris Lance.
The EDS Byron Nelson Golf Championship is held
every May at the Tournament Players Course at
the Four Seasons Resort & Club in Las Colinas.
All proceeds from the golf classic are dedicated
to supporting the Salesmanship Club Youth and
Family Centers, a nonprofit organization providing
education and mental health services for children
and their families in the Dallas area.
In 2004, the PGA Tour contributed almost $6.1
million to the Salesmanship Club, and since its
inception, the championship has raised more than
$82 million for charity.
