Lady's Soccer:
Fall 2005 is best recruitment yet
Jim Benedek, coach of North
Lake College’s women’s soccer team,
is ecstatic.
“Since I have had the privilege to coach
at NLC, this will be the best recruiting class
coming in for fall 2005,” he said.
Fourteen players have signed up to play soccer,
which begins in August with pre-season games.
The players are:
- Cindy Zelaya, midfield, MacArthur High School
- Jessica Venegas, midfield, Nimitz High School
- Claudia Sanchez, forward, Irving High School
- Monica Bacon, defender, Sam Houston High School,
Arlington
- Nicole Owens, defender, Azle High School
- Shanon Martin, midfield, Kilgore High School
- Silvia Resendiz, forward, Wolfe City (Texas)
High School
- Diana Garcia, goalkeeper, Allen Memorial High
School
- Christine Meredith, goalkeeper, Cedar Hill
High School
- Veronica Romero, forward, Grand Prairie High
School
- Samantha Maldonado, forward, W.T. White High
School
- Tina Dreier, forward, Riesa, Germany
- Cieria Colbert, forward, Copperas Core High
School
- Diana Nieto, midfield, Hillcrest High School
Players report for pre-season practice on Aug.
14. The first home game is Friday, Sept. 2, at
3 p.m., against Louisiana’s Bossier City
College.
“I hope everyone will come out and cheer
on these fine athletes,” said Benedek.
