Men’s locker
room is target for thieves
Police Beat: On May 3, the
DCCCD Board of Trustees approved Chris Drake to
be NLCPD’s new police chief. We can now
congratulate and give him a warm North Lakestyle
welcome, and look forward to his involvement on
campus.
Congratulations are also in store for Officer
Chris Lance who received the Officer of the Year
Award in April. Congratulations Chris, keep up
the good work!
NLC Road Rules
Is everyone familiar with the phrase, “no
cop, no stop”? When we are in a hurry or
late to class and there are not any other cars
in sight, most of us tend to breeze through stop
signs.
Rules are made to be obeyed, and that means by
everyone (including the police).
The NLCPD will issue citations from the City
of Irving rather than campus citations from now
on to
people who are caught running stop signs on campus,
said Officer Jack Guthrie.
Maybe, with the new chief on board, the crime
rate will start to decline on campus, not just
the volume of stop sign runners. In the meantime,
here is a look at what’s been going on over
the past few weeks:
