Letters to the Editor
SIC instructor thanks those who made BOSS
program a success Dear Editor,
Just a note of thanks for those who helped with
the BOSS graduation on Friday, July 29!
The BOSS (Business Office Support Specialist)
Program was made possible by a grant from Verizon.
You helped to make a memorable day for the BOSS
graduates and their families.
Thank you to Amy Willingham for coming over from
the main campus and helping Rocio Garcia set up!
Thanks to Rocio Garcia and Nathan Whitehead for
getting supplies and setting up.
Thank you, Dr. Herlinda Glasscock, for such a
wonderful speech and encouragement to my students
afterwards. Several came up to me and shared how
you and Patricia Corbett had told them of your
willingness to help them continue on at North
Lake!
And thank you to all of the seminar speakers
who took time out of their busy schedules to come
and support the BOSS students! You were the very
heart and soul of the BOSS program and you made
a difference in the lives of those students, believe
me.
Thanks to Dean René Castilla for helping
to greet and seat our 45 guests and for staying
with Ruth Blough and me to clean up afterwards.
You were heroic, especially when my back went
into spasms and I no longer could move very well.
WE did it! And I am so grateful to be part of
the NLC “we”!
The next 8-week session starts on Sept. 12, and
ends on Nov. 4. There are full and partial scholarships
available.
