SGA elections

Rock the vote!

Upon acceptance into North Lake, students automatically become members of the Student Government Association.

All students are encouraged to become active members and officers so that the association is a true representative body of student thought and opinion, voicing the needs and concerns of the student body.

Officers are elected by the student body at the beginning of each fall semester, with terms running through August of the following year until new elections are held.

Officer Election Campaign Week will be held Tuesday, Sept. 6 through Thursday, Sept. 15. Elections will be held through online voting Friday and Saturday, Set. 16 and 17. All students may log on under eConnect in order to submit their vote.

All potential SGA candidates must submit a completed North Lake College Application for Student Government form to the Student Programs And Resources Office, A-223, by Friday, Sept. 2 at 4:30 p.m.

All SGA officer positions are to be obtained by a sponsored campaign and registered election. The SPAR office has campaign guidelines available. Adherence to these guidelines will demonstrate the leadership skills and integrity of each SGA candidate.

Requirements for candidacy are: a GPA of 2.5 or greater, be enrolled in at least six credit hours at North Lake College, and not be on either scholastic or disciplinary probation.

North Lake College’s Student Government Association was instituted over 16 years ago in order to make a difference and build a stronger educational institution and community. The purpose and mission of the organization is to represent, to communicate with, act upon, and ensure student rights and needs, concerns, and social well-being to the administration of North Lake College.

If you are interested in running for an officer position, please contact the Student Programs And Resources office at 972-273-3020 for more information.
