Dear Editor,
Sometimes it is hard to find the right words to
commend someone that you know or believe deserves
more than the words or adjectives you know to
describe them. I looked for a more suitable adjective
to describe my speech instructor for the first
summer session, Dr. Linda Long, but all in vain,
then at least I thought I should say something
although I would not do her any justice because
of my limited English vocabulary and grammar.
Her approach to the teaching profession is one
that can be used towards life at large and you
can never regret choosing her way. At the beginning
of the semester, I was more than afraid because
we had to learn everybody in the class’s
names and the adjective that describes them best.
After a few days, I learned more names than I
expected to learn and met wonderful students,
and Dr. Long was our instructor, our mother and
our friend in class for the few days I was in
her speech class, and I personally wished every
instructor I took was like her.
She made me think positive all the time I was
in her class and I really and truly commend her
as an exceptional professor and a wonderful lady
who never ages with time and never gets deterred
by life’s difficulties and challenges.
I wish her all the happiness life can offer.
Yours truly,
Ahmed Hassan
