New year, new resolutions

New Year’s Day in America has its traditions. Most include watching football and eating. For an unlucky few, hangovers are involved. It’s also a day when people make New Year resolutions. (Particularly the folks with the hangovers.)

You have to love the idea of a fresh start. Our country was founded on such an idea.

We love a comeback kid. Good thing, too! When it’s time to draft some resolutions many of us can simply whip out last year’s list and rewrite the date.

It should be said that a wish list and a list of resolutions are two entirely different things. A little reality can go a long way when setting new goals. It’s unlikely that you will be able to coach a kids’ soccer team, travel to all continents and lose 40 pounds.

Some people choose only one resolution. Making more than five resolutions is begging for trouble. Listed here are some common categories used in goal-setting. Writing on an index card can prevent you from getting carried away. Keep it simple.
