Instructor to release
Christmas CD
Special to the News-Register
Sherry Boyd, a humanities faculty member of the
Visual and Performing Arts Teaching and Learning
Center, will release her first CD on Dec. 2, with
an autograph session at noon in the campus bookstore.
Her professional music career began with the
international cast of “ Up With People.”
In order to continue her career, she started her
own band and named the band after her daughter.
Crystal‘s Image entertained throughout the
Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex until Boyd was hired
by a local band, Custom Made.
This musical journey gave her the opportunity
to open for Frankie Avalon, The Four Tops, the
Beach Boys, and the Pointer Sisters.
Boyd is not only a vocalist with the “voice
of an angel,” but she is an aspiring actress
as well. As a member of the Actor Equity Association,
she has had the opportunity to work at Dallas
Theatre Center, Theatre Three, North Shore Musical
Theatre and Casa Manana.
She has appeared in Into the Woods,
as the witch; Six Women with Brain Death,
as Woman #4; Joe Turner’s Come and Gone,
as Martha Loomis; and Nunsense as Robert
Anne.
After a hiatus from performing, Boyd has returned
to release her first Christmas CD, Rejoicing
His Birth.
An innovative vocalist, Boyd maintains a highly
successful career at North Lake College while
continuing to explore and challenge herself in
a wide range of musical styles.
