Television, magazine, newspaper win 37 awards at TIPA convention
North Lake’s writers, editors and videographers honored in San Antonio

At the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association Convention in San Antonio April 6-8, North Lake College won a grand total of 37 awards for its newspaper, television production and literary magazine.
The News-Register took Overall Excellence again in Division 6, and won awards in almost all of the categories — reporting, photography, advertising, layout, cartoon, column, illustration and special section, for a total of 24 awards.
In the Television category, North Lake students took six honors, including first place in documentary, and first place in television production.
In the Literary Magazine category, Duck Soup took top honors in the Essay category and Poem category, for a total of three awards.
