Lots of ‘Action’ with NLC’s Video Club

Some clubs are more active than others. The Video Club at North Lake College never seems to rest.
This year the members are busy producing a parody of Peter Jackson’s King Kong. The spoof, called Big Dude, will premiere at the club’s upcoming Video Film Festival.
The Video Club will showcase short films, documentaries, music videos and other productions by NLC students.
The community can rub elbows with North Lake’s filmmakers and students can vote for their favorite production at the May 2 event.
“Since we don’t have a gallery, performance space or TV station, the video club felt this would be a great way to show the community what we do,” said Andy Chiles, instructor of video technology.
The festival began in 2000 as a way of highlighting the production work of North Lake’s video technology students.
Students wishing to join the Video Club should contact SPAR at 972-273-3020, or visit Room A-223 for more details.
