WEOTA, North Lake College’s art club, made more than $500 selling baked goods – made of clay and flour – at a March 29 sale.
The Orphan Art Sale consisted of items that were left behind in the ceramics lab by their owners.
Marty Ray, art department coordinator, decides which pieces are “orphans” to be sold.
“All the money we raise goes into the WEOTA art scholarship fund; this money is awarded to students in the Student Art Show,” said Ray.
Ray thanked those who volunteered to be cashiers, and those who donated the sweet treats.
WEOTA was formed in 1981 when student artists voted to call it “We Expose Ourselves to Art.”
The club’s mission is to promote the visual arts on and off the North Lake campus. |
