Police Beat:

On-campus police phone call away

NLC Police Officers are available to provide personal escorts, assist with vehicle unlocks, battery jump start requests, respond to medical emergencies, lost & found, accident / injury immediate response, parking citations, emergency messages and to investigate complaints on campus. All calls for police services go through DCCCD Police Communications at Brookhaven College. The protocol for requesting police services are as follows:

From campus phones: Dial 911 from any campus phone for all police services, both emergency and non-emergency.

From mobile or other non- DCCCD phones: Dial DCCCD Police Communications directly at 972—860—4521 when requesting police services. Do not dial 911 from your mobile phone for non-emergency matters.

April 27: Criminal Mischief — Unknown person intentionally broke a car window in parking lot #17.

April 27: Theft under $50 — Unknown person stole a student's wallet in the K Building.

May 7: Fail to ID/after striking unattended vehicle — Unknown person failed to leave ID after striking unattended vehicle in the faculty parking lot.

May 13: Burglary of a Vehicle — Unknown person broke into a vehicle and stole a wallet and a cellphone in parking lot #21.

May 16: Theft $1,500 to $20,000 — Unknown suspect stole construction equipment from equipment storage area east of parking lot #21.

June 6: Theft $ 1500.00 to $ 20000.00 — Unknown person stole two laptop computers from a storage area in the P Building.

June 7: Burglary of a Vehicle — Suspect broke into a vehicle and stole a stereo and speaker box in parking lot #4. The suspect was arrested.

June 7: Harassment (electronic means) — A student harassed another student by sending threatening messages by electronic means.

June 7: Attempted Burglary of a Vehicle — Suspect attempted to break into vehicle to commit a theft and caused minor damage to the car in parking lot #4.

June 8: Disorderly Conduct — A male student used profane language in a public place causing a breach of the peace at the South Irving Center.

June 16: Burglary of a Vehicle — Person reported her cellphone stolen out of her car in Liberty Circle. No offense took place cellphone found 10 minutes later.

June 27: Burglary of a Coin Operated Machine — Unknown suspect broke into a coin operated machine, in a women's restroom and stole property and cash from the machine on the fourth floor of the A Building. July 16: Theft $50 to $500 — Unknown person stole a drum pedal and a “hi- hat cymbal” from a drum set out of the P Building. J

uly 24: Burglary of a Building — Unknown person broke into the R Building, not open to the public, and stole several soccer balls.

July 26: Theft 50 to $500 — Unknown person stole an unattended back pack from the NLC Library.
