Girls volleyball back in action
Lady Blazers season
began Aug. 30 after 2-year hiatus

Volleyball is back at North
Lake. This is the first full year
that North Lake College has had
a volleyball team after a two-year
hiatus. The team last year was
more of a club team and they didn't
really compete against major opponents.

which began Aug. 30, currently has
the team at 2-8.
The Lady Blazers have played
in tournaments, in Arizona and
Florida. The team made the silver
bracket in the Pensacola, Fla.,
tournament and Aryn Masler was
named all-tournament.
The captains for the team are
Jordan Miller and Amanda Mc-
Donald.
The Lady Blazers compete
against several NJCAA Division-I
schools, but Cummings is optimistic
about the team's chances this
season.
“My expectations for the team
this season is to make the conference
tournament and to hopefully
qualify for the national tournament,”
he said. “I feel that we will
be in the top four in our conference.”
Cummings feels that his expectations
for the team are realistic for
this season despite the losing record
so far.
“Since it is our first big season in
a few years, our conference is our
biggest rival.”
The Lady Blazers play their Metro
Athletic Conference games on
Mondays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. |
