The North Lake Lady Blazers volleyball team ended its first season in two years with a solid foundation for the future.

After finishing the season with a 5-5 conference record, the Lady Blazers volleyball team qualified for the regional finals for the first time in team history.

“The girls worked hard and really represented the college well,” said coach Steve Cummings. “They played above my expectations and did a good job.”

Now that the season has ended, Cummings has started his recruiting process. Four players are returning and three girls have already signed from area high schools. As a result of their record, the team has gotten interests from girls in Austin, Houston and even a few out of state.

The Lady Blazers will have a short spring session with four days of scrimmaging and will hold 20 practices to prepare for next fall. Anyone interested in joining the 2007 team should fill out the player profile that can be found on the North Lake Web site.

Cummings can be contacted at 972-273-3522.
