Feb. 6: African-American
Forum
L-240, 11 a.m.
Civil Liberties speaker, Roger
Newsman, will address areas of
civil rights and liberties.
Feb. 13: The College of
Inspiring Artists from
Shorter Community College
Gallery, noon This commemoration of Black
History will be done through music
and storytelling.
Feb. 14: Fashion Show
C-Building Foyer, noon
Celebrate the beautiful styles
and fashions of all cultures.
Feb. 15: Portraits of Courage
Arena Theater
11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
A theatrical performance highlighting
the contributions of Ida B.
Wells, Lewis Latimer, Fanny Lou
Hamer, and other African-Americans
who helped shape the country.
Feb. 20: Knowledge Wheel
Lower Gallery, 11:30-1:30
Sharing information about African-
Americans is the focus of
this program.
Feb. 27: African-American
Read-In
Gallery, 12:30
This program helps to promote
literacy, communication, cultural understanding
and the joy of reading.
