Lunar New Year
It’s the Year of the Pig
North Lake College's annual
Lunar New Year
celebration was held
Feb. 16 in the cafeteria.
SPAR hosted the event, which featured
a lion dance and Dr. Henry
Su's Tai Chi and Tae Kwon Do students.
Egg rolls and hot tea were
served as refreshments.
The start of the Chinese New
Year was actually two days later on
Feb. 18 — the Year of the Pig. If
you were born in 1923, 1935, 1947,
1959, 1971, 1983 or 1995, you were
born under the sign of the pig. It
will be celebrated again in 2019.
Those born under this sign, according
to Chinese legend, tend to
have excellent manners, make and
keep friends, and work very hard. |
