Letters to faculty
Rahman Ghamasaee,
mathematics faculty
Hi. I was passing by your office and saw
you there. I was going to say hi but you
looked busy. So, I just want to tell you
that you are a very good teacher and
that I really admire you. I’ve learned
many things in your class and I’m very
grateful for having you as a teacher.
I’m not very good with words. That’s
why I’m writing. Anyway, thank you
again. The world needs more teachers
like you. God bless you.
Chad Wilkes
adjunct religion faculty
He has a very friendly class. He listens
to everybody. He teaches excellent
and explains every detail. He respects
everyone, no matter what the religion,
or where they come from. He is Number
One! God take care of him.
Kam Deleon (Taylor)
adjunct history faculty
She is very energetic, friendly and
helpful. She made history fun for everyone.
Long hours in her class were a
lot of fun for me. After her class, I became
very interested in history. Thank
you, Kam.
Linda Long, speech faculty
(a compilation of notes from two
students)
*Thank you for being a great teacher
and mentor. Your advice has made a
huge difference for me. I am going to
miss NLC, and I’ll never forget you or
what you taught me.
*I thoroughly enjoyed you and your
class. I wish all teachers could have a
little bit of Linda Long in them. You
have been an inspiration for my teaching
endeavor. Thank you.
Chris Fulmer, Art faculty
I am an ex-student of Professor
Chris Fulmer, and I am writing you to
give her some praise.
I was in her Drawing 2 class this
past fall semester and found her class
to be very informative and rather entertaining
and fun. She gave plenty
of help when needed but was still laid
back enough to allow a large amount
of expressional freedom to me and the
other students. I also found her to be
very personable and she took all the
time that was needed to help in class
with me, while allowing me space to
do a lot of self-motivated learning. She
is a very nice teacher and among the
best I have ever taken.
With that said, I would like to congratulate
and thank you for having her
as a member of the North Lake faculty.
I will recommend her with great ease
to everyone I know with an interest in
art. She is a wonderful person and I feel
I have gained greatly from the experience
of having her as a teacher. Thanks
for taking the time to read this.
Math Department
I want to thank you again. Even
though this was a short term, I felt I
did learn more with the Interactive
Math than in a previous classroom attempt
and I felt like I had your support
the entire way through (which meant
a lot!!!) Everyone I know recommends
the North Lake Math department over
any DCCCD campus and I will now
join in that myself.
Jerry Mesquita, CISCO Faculty
I didn’t really get the chance to personally
thank you for your personal
assistance and time that you provided.
I know that some of the younger students
do not always express their appreciation
to the instructors because as
you know, it’s just one of those things
that not all younger students do. However,
I do know for a fact that in the
CCNA 2 Class, students would prefer
your own professional way of teaching
as to other instructors. You possess
ways of assisting others to understand
better along with keeping the students
attention, and of course, some students
are very articulate and intelligent.
Therefore, some studies are quite simple
for them. But, we also know that
you can’t be at every class.
Again, I’m looking forward to
CCNA 3 Class.
Henry Su, biology faculty
I want to thank you for preparing
me for the nursing program.
I started school last week and have
already had to take a few exams for
skills prep. Your class is certainly
challenging (for me, the most challenging
to date), but for that I am
thankful.
Taking your class as my final prereq
greatly prepared me for critical
thinking skills and the test taking
philosophy now adopted by the nursing
program. While memorization is
still a large part of the program, ie: lab
values and performance steps; a much
greater emphasis is placed on obtaining
a true understanding of the various
disease processes and ethical philosophies.
I couldn’t have arranged my pre-req
schedule any better! I know I griped a
bit about your testing format (short essay
answers), but this is exactly what
is needed to prepare nursing students.
Again thanks a bunch and don’t change
a thing. |
