Student proposes on campus bulletin board

Did she say yes? Did she say no?

Most men get on their knees and ask the question that would change everything, or go through the extreme challenges of getting their significant other to say yes by going to great lengths, such as taking out an advertisement in the newspaper or hiring an airplane to fly a banner in the sky.

Giovanni Martinez kept it short and simple by posting a romantic proposal on the Valentine’s Day bulletin board near the Gallery at North Lake College.

Earlier in the year he had asked Veronica Lopez how she would picture the perfect promise of his love to her. Most women would want the occasion to fall on their birthday or Christmas, but Veronica chose not the day of love – Valentine’s – but the day after. Little did she know that she would be taken seriously.

February 15 went by as any day did and Veronica asked Giovanni in a panic, “Do you love me?”

She would soon find out what he meant when he said, “You will find out when you see what I have written you on the Valentine’s Day bulletin board.”

She ran over to the board and looked frantically for the message, but it was no where to be found. Then she lifted up a piece of paper and there it was: “Veronica, I love you so much that I just got you this beautiful ring.”

She didn’t react all girlie and excited like most women do when they are asked the ultimate question. She was shocked. So the question still remains. Did she or did she not say yes?

Of course, she said yes. Veronica is thankful to SPAR for creating the Valentine’s Day bulletin board and for making Giovanni’s promise to her the most original and romantic ever.
