Wow! What a show!
This semester’s dance concert April 12 and
13 at North Lake College featured jazz, hip hop,
modern African tap, swing, ballet and more.
Several of the participants said they had looked forward to
the performance for months.
“It’s a way to express my passion,” said Jodi West. “It’s also
a great way to have fun. It’s just fun to perform.”
For some North Lake performers, the concert capped more
than a decade of training.
West, a freshman, took her first lesson at two.
Della Dickerson said dance training, which she began as a
child, has given her tremendous discipline.
Tiffany Tynan has studied ballet since she was three. She
said she plans to continue her training at North Lake.
David Hong, in his first semester at North Lake, said he has
a practical reason to continue his dance studies.
“It’s a great place to meet new people,” he explained. |
