THUMBS
DOWN to the
busted water
pipe.
Does anyone remember
what happened when the
campus suffered a water main
break back in January 2006?
Yep, the campus was closed
for four days.
A recent busted water pipe in front of the gym brought back memories of the campus being evacuated and classes being canceled. What is it with water on this campus? It's like we're a magnet for it.
THUMBS UP
to summer
cleaning.
Sniff, sniff . Smell that? It's
clean air. All the dust and dirt
is being vacuumed or washed
off cushions, carpet, walls and
windows on campus in preparation
for the new academic
year. The facilities personnel
are doing a really nice job.
All this cleaning is bound to clear up some of our allergies.
THUMBS
DOWN to a
dead native
garden.
pipe.
It doesn't look like the
plants that are indigenous to
Texas faired well in the summer
heat.
Outside the K-Building on level 2, the fountain is off and is filled with algae. It's become a breeding ground for mosquitoes, and wasps are also taking up residence and chasing students away.
The flowers seem to have suffered a horrible death due to dehydration.
Can somebody give them a drink?
THUMBS UP
to the past
presidents of
North Lake coming
back for the college's
30th anniversary.
We're sure no one is happier
about their return than
Patricia Corbett, Dr. Herlinda
Glasscock's administrative
assistant, who has worked for
all of them!
North Lake students will get a chance to hear them speak at this year's convocation Aug. 31. Let's fill the Performance Hall and give them a warm welcome back!
