CAMPUS LIFE Earth Day
Monica Atwell, advisor of the nvironmental Club on campus, was helpful in providing conservation tips to those who visited her table.
Aspen Catering provided food for all of those who took part in the Earth Day celebration. Student Programs and Resources (SPAR) sponsored the 2008 Earth Day Picnic, which took place in North Lake’s Courtyard Tuesday, April 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Students attended performances by Jim Eger’s NLC Jazz Band, a “How to Turn Trash Into Art” presentation by Sarita Wirsig, and visited Monica Atwell’s Environmental Club table with Earth Day conservation tips. Facilities provided recycle bins and Health Services hosted a “Save the Earth by Saving a Life” bone marrow drive by Baylor Hospital at the event. Aspen Catering provided free hamburgers and picnic food to hundreds of students, faculty and staff. |
