What challenges have you met
as Student Government Association president? -“Probably
the biggest challenge is unity of the student government.
As individuals we’re strong, but as a group we
don’t come together to form a stronger group;
overcoming the ups and downs of being a leader, and
knowing when to say no or when to let others do the

have an open mind in his classroom.
John Hitt, a faculty advisor and a government professor
at North Lake College, uses his background in his family’s
funeral business to make his classes a bit more interesting
and entertaining.
Hitt grew up in a small east Texas town, graduating
high school in a class of 72 students. “It was
a very stable childhood and environment to be raised
in,” he said.
